Produced by Badia a Coltibuono, this extraordinarily rich, full flavored artisan oil is produced in limited quantities from the highest groves on the Coltibuono estate.

 

Albereto is produced from several varieties of olives, principally Frantoio, Pendolino and Leccino, with smaller quantities Maurino. It has a deep emerald green hue, and is left deliberately unfiltered to achieve full expression of the oil's aroma and flavor.

This Tuscan extra virgin olive oil was introduced to the United States almost over 39 years ago. It is the first Tuscan extra virgin olive oil to the United States. Badia a Coltibuono, (Abbey of the Good Harvest), is the single most consistent producer of authentic extra virgin olive oil in Italy and is widely considered by chef, food critics, consumers and media as the super-premium extra virgin olive oil by which all others are judged. For generations the Stucchi Prinetti family have been producing Chianti Classico on the estate for both the domestic and international market. The idea to introduce another traditional product of the region was realized by Piero Stucchi Prinetti. His foresight and skill transformed the property into a modern estate which now includes a hotel, restaurant, cooking school, vineyards, and olive groves. His children are involved in all aspects of the estate and continue the tradition of producing the finest wines and extra virgin olive oils of the region.
