Originating from 1829 in the Buenos Aires region of Argentina, Dulce de Leche is a traditional confection staple in every kitchen pantry. Made from fresh cow's milk in a large pot, brought to a slow boil then combined with just sugar and vanilla, this "milk caramel" has no preservatives and is made by San Ignacio, one of the most respected brands in Argentina. Adhering to their traditional recipe, their Dulce de Leche has a smooth, silky and creamy mouth feel with a deep, caramelized flavor and milky sweetness.

Use as a topping for desserts and ice cream, pair with fruits or spread on breads and muffins. Incorporate into brownies, pastries and crepes for an indulgent treat. A classic ingredient to make South American Alfajores, a traditional confection of dulce ce leche sandwiched between two short bread cookies and covered in powdered sugar or grated coconut. For a savory pairing, try with mild, fresh cheeses like mascarpone, ricotta and goat cheese or atop triple creme bries.
